La firma francesa de servicios de pago compró una participación del 55% en SoftPos.
Worldline aseguró que el acuerdo la ayudará a lanzar una serie de asociaciones, así como un nuevo producto conocido como Worldline Tap on Mobile, una solución basada en Android que permite a los comerciantes aceptar pagos en teléfonos inteligentes, tabletas o dispositivos empresariales con un solo toque.
La herramienta está diseñada para aceptar pequeñas cantidades simplemente tocando, pero también puede aprobar compras más grandes mediante la entrada de PIN, dijo Worldline.
Para dispositivos móviles, NFC funciona en ambas direcciones, transmitiendo señales NFC y leyendo etiquetas NFC. SoftPOS, también conocido como tap-to-phone o tap-on-phone, aprovecha este protocolo de comunicación en ambos sentidos.
Pero si bien es una conveniencia obvia, SoftPOS sigue siendo principalmente un método de pago de nicho a pesar de que Mastercard y Visa ofrecen programas para ayudar a desarrollar la tecnología.
