Latin America’s rich seam of opportunity Latin America’s banking sector was in better shape at the start of the financial crisis following economic shocks in the past. This was due to factors including policy reforms and improved fiscal management. Although the region has not been spared the impact of the downturn, the sector is set to recover in 2010 and consolidation is likely to increase.
